WordPress Websites for Women

Supporting women and non-binary business owners with WordPress development

According to a survey from Tide, only one in five women considered starting a business in 2021. Asked the same question of men, and more than a quarter said yes.

The biggest barriers facing women starting a business are insufficient funds / savings, and the perceived risk of doing so. A barrier I’m familiar with, as I faced the same issues as a mum of a toddler and a two week old baby back in 2012 when I decided to launch my business. No savings, no back-up plan, just a gut feeling that it was the right way to go; I handed in my notice and set about launching my female-owned business.

Where did I start? With a WordPress website. This WordPress website. An identity, something to grow with.

I know how important that first website is to getting your business off the ground.

I also know that finding the time to do it yourself is difficult. As a solopreneur trying to drum up business you need to wear so many hats: website developer, social media manager, marketeer, copywriter, and that’s before we even get to the actual “doing the work” part and any outside commitments like kids and partners and pets and “life” on top.

So where do we go from here?

You’ve entered “websites for women” into Google and you’ve found a few female founders pushing packages and options and themes and “divi” and “elementor” and WordPress and plugins, but what does it actually mean? And how do I know what I’m getting is going to stand the test of time and drive sales and conversions for my business, as well as looking good?

How do I know that I’m paying for something built with quality, longevity and performance in mind, put together by someone who understands the very fundamentals of both the code and the end business goals? Meet: Jem Turner.

If you want to talk to an experienced female web developer who’s been there on day one with nothing but an idea and is still making it work over 12 years later, talk to Jem today.
