Flickassist

Flickassist helps trade plate passengers connect with trade plate drivers to arrange lifts

Hoping to revolutionise the journeys of trade plate drivers in the UK, Andrew came to me with the idea for Flickassist in 2018: a trade plate driver look-up system that allows plater journey matching to easily arrange and offer lifts, utilising Google Maps API for geolocation and geocoding, and SMS notifications for drivers.

Working with another local developer, Gareth Griffiths, we designed and developed a bespoke WordPress website complete with performant WordPress theme and integral plugin. Utilising a proprietary matching algorithm the website intelligently pairs up drivers that are likely to cross paths during the course of their work enabling them to offer each other lifts between locations, helping them get to their next appointment without hassle.

The site went live in 2019 but getting it into the hands of drivers was unfortunately hampered by covid and associated lockdowns. Andrew is looking to drive forward interest in Flickassist in 2023 and beyond.

Why hire Jem for your WordPress project?

We needed to refresh our website and had lots of ideas; Jem was great as well as providing all of the technical expertise she was able to help us think through our design options and we now we have a great website that not only looks good but has additional features such as YouTube videos & training materials.

Jem re-designed our website for us, ensuring it is now engaging, user-friendly and fantastic-looking. Highly recommend.

Jem has been unflinchingly helpful with every stage of the development of the Albion site, and has helped us keep it up to date and functioning effectively, solving problems as they have arisen. I am a techno-phobe, but Jem has been unfailingly supportive, helpful, always friendly and efficient. Also her rates seem really good value, but don’t tell her I said so.

We commissioned Jem to create a new school website. We wanted a website which was well ordered, accessible with a simple design and, most importantly, easy to update by various, non technical members of staff.

Jem provided us with really useful design ideas which helped us give her an idea of what we wanted. Jem very quickly produced a new website, which looks very impressive. Jem then provided an excellent training session which enabled us to add our own pages and menus. Throughout the whole process Jem has been quick in answering our many questions and her suggestions have always been very helpful.

We have found Jem to be extremely professional, helpful and supportive and we would thoroughly recommend Jem to any school looking for a new website.
